S.D.Z. Metal Spinning and Stamping concentrates on long runs in the stamping business, and also short runs in the spinning business. The company focuses on aluminum cans and aluminum domes for the recessed lighting and down light business. S.D.Z. can spin up to 54 inches.

What is Metal Spinning?

Simply put, metal spinning is the transformation of a flat metal disc into a specific shape. It is achieved by rotating it at a high speed on a manual spinning lathe.

The flat metal disc is clamped against a spin block or ‘chuck’ and a series of sweeping motions then evenly transforms the disc around the chuck into the desired shape.
